WeirdMusic.net EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW

Zelunjo Onugbolu

WeirdMusic.net Music Review:

Are you are looking for the ultimate in chill out summer R&B? Well sit back, relax, and put on some Zelunjo, one of the freshest independent R&B and soul acts to come out of the UK in 2011. (You can preview tracks from his upcoming album below or at myspace.com/fit4soul )

Zelunjo keeps it cool with “That's the way it is”, a soulful ballad showcasing the artists rich voice over a hypnotic beat, low key groove, and languid electric piano. The song culminates in a cascade of vocalwork demonstrating the skill and range of this rising singer. Reminiscent of such acts as Dwele and Kem, this is definitely one to have in your collection.

Zelunjo turns up the heat with the smooth and sexy “You're not alone”. Listen to how multiple layers breathy whispers, soulful melodies, and tasty melisma combine with infectious synthesizer lines and drum beats weaving a musical tapestry that will keep your body moving. Prepare to melt when you hear it.
