WeirdMusic.net EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEWS
Kit Bradley - WeirdMusic.net Exclusive Interview:
- Do you Like/Write Weird Music ??
I love weird music. Anything that sounds different and real appeals to me. I don't know if I write weird music- you tell me! I would certainly consider myself weird. The biggest insult to me is to be called normal.
- When and where did your experience in music start?
My dad has a really eclectic taste in music and so I was influenced by everything from Tchiakovsky to Jethro Tull from an early age. My first memory of wanting to create a unique musical experience was when I was about 10. I was sat with a guitar and thought 'I wonder if I could play this like a cello, be a pioneer and become famous?' obviously that didn't happen though!. I played lots of different orchestral instruments but I always wanted to sing. However I was terrified of singing and it took me a long time to be brave enough to do it.
- What are you currently working on and what are your plans for the rest of the year ?
I'm writing as ever, hoping to get paid to write and perform one day. I'm also trying to record my songs- albeit in quite a 'rustic' style- to put on the web. I'm just trying to get my stuff out there basically.
- What do you consider your greatest inspirational sources in music ?
I think if you're an artist of any kind you're inspired by all sorts of things. For me it's largely life experiences and just an overwhelming need to create. I can't say it's a logical process. I just sit down and, if it happens, I tend to write everything as I go along. I'm not sure where it comes from. I'm still a little surprised and confused myself so i'll get back to you when I figure it out.
- Please describe your personal studio for us...
I wish I had one!! At the moment I have a load of guitars i can't play properly and my piano's residing elsewhere. I am writing and recording by using a very basic computer programme and an old yamaha keyboard
- What are your favorite readings ?
I absolutely love literature but I'm pretty scatty when it comes to reading and I find that I'll be reading and then 4 pages later realise I've been thinking about something else. I really love the Brontes though. Jane Eyre and Wuthering Heights especially. I also love biographies, Florence Nightingale and Isadora Ducan's were fantastic.
- In your opinion, what role does the third sector, public and non-
profit entities; have for music on the Internet ?
I'm just a wacky writer................
- Who is Wacky Jacky ?
Me?
- Are you religious ?
I'm really spiritual but not religious. I believe in keeping a calm head and promoting a loud heart wherever and whenever possible.
- Anything else ?
Stay cool...??
