- Do you Like/Write Weird Music ??
We are sick of listening to nice music. Without ugliness there is no
beauty, and 99,9% of today's music is made of just beautiful sounds,
without any ugliness.

- When and where did your experience in music start?
Kevi started to play with computers since he was a kid, with a DOS
sequencer running on a 386 PC, a Yamaha 4 track tape recorder, a Roland JX
something synth, an Ibanez acoustic guitar and other instruments. Deni
is a natural born singer, he used to sing to the Penguins at the
kindergarten. He also sings to his cows when they are upset, and also plays
the flute and the hoboe. Kevi also likes to eat pieces of computers.

- What are you currently working on and what are your plans for the
rest of the year ?
Kevi is working on the next songs, using funny software to generate and
then degenerate music and words. Deni is currently very busy playing
baroque hoboe across Europe. He's planning to develop a new breed of
animals, half cow and half cigarette. He thinks it could be a commercial
breakthrough.

- What do you consider your greatest inspirational sources in music ?
Ligeti. Ornette Coleman. The Mud Slide Slim LP by James Taylor.
Goodiepal. Paul Bley. Hawaiian music. John Zorn. The Newgrass Revival. Vintage
Garage especially if the words are in Spanish. The first years of
Grunge.

- Please describe your personal studio for us...
Loudspeakers Mackie HR824. 2 old G3 macintosh + 1 brand new MiniMAC + 2
PC laptop. Software is MaxMSP, Cubase, Open Music. Digidesing and
M-Audio soundcards. Then we have a series of vintage microphones and
various guitars and basses.
Before starting a recording session we perform some rites in the Deni's
woods.

- What are your favorite readings ?
The first books of Clive Barker. "Sessanta racconti" by Dino Buzzati.
The italian philosopher Carlo Michelstadter. "Music for Chameleons" by
Truman Capote. The Maestro Stephen King. Robert A.Heinlein. Pirandello.

- In your opinion, what role does the third sector, public and non-
profit entities; have for music on the Internet ?
To allow people tired by the usual music to find something ugly.

- Who is Wacky Jacky ?
Our mastering assistant from Heaven. He studied at ISAMSM, but he had
to quit after 2 years : it seems that he used a dead fish to unscrew
something in a broken mixing desk - after an electric shock, the fish came
back to life for a few seconds and said "Heaven does exist, and I was
there".

- Are you religious ?
Funny question : actually, we are zombies. After our death, we decided
to come back, because didn't like what we saw down there. Looks like
some kind of electric shock brought us back, but we don't know who did
that. This is the reason why we don't play live no more (like Wacky
Jacky).

- Anything else ?
Our music should be listened to with headphones, best if sitting on the
floor of an overbooked train.

 

Kevi & Deni - BIO:

Kevi and Deni are an italian duo, but they are already dead. Nobody
knows them well enough, but there is a document mentioning the mysterious
two : the log of a German engineer, Hans Mangleschwitt. At page 214 it
says : "I ran into two weird guys, Kevi and Deni. They lived in North
Italy, I didn't know exactly how. Looks like one was a computer
programmer, but I saw him actually biting a computer because it didn't reboot.
The other owned some land, had a few animals, and lived in a shithole
in the hills. I stayed with them a few weeks." Hans Mangleschwitt was
last seen in the beach of Fiesolo - Italy, in the summer of 2007, then he
disappeared. His grandma is still waiting for him.
