WeirdMusic.net EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW - Glideascope
- Do you Like/Write Weird Music ??
If weird is a soundclash of Jamaican Dub, Baroque Classical and old skool Hip Hop beats, then YES!!!
- When and where did your experience in music start?
Playing acoustic on a 3 string guitar (only because the other 3 strings had broken) :-)
- What are you currently working on and what are your plans for the rest of the year ?
I am currently working on the promo video for the song "Stop The War" which should be available end of September/October. The plans for the rest of the year are to work on new material, a possible classical/electronica remix project.
- What do you consider your greatest inspirational sources in music ?
Bob Marley, Bach, Vangelis and the innovation of Massive Attack.
- Please describe your personal studio for us...
Lots of keyboards, digital violin, computers (old and new) and lots of wires that I am still figuring out what goes where...
- What are your favorite readings ?
At the moment I am enjoying a book called "FREE" by Chris Anderson
- In your opinion, what role does the third sector, public and non-
profit entities; have for music on the Internet ?
I am not that knowledgable on the subject, but I would consider that a non-profit approach to music will likely lead to more interesting and experimental music appealing to a demographic that isn't catered for in the traditional and overtly commercial sense.
Glideascope has done something real special. Something the world of beats and bass could do with more of. A globally in touch moment of bliss that will enhance what ever state of consciousness you're in right now. - DJ Magazine
Glideascope's debut album is a sound clash of downtempo beats, African and Indian folk music, dub reggae the roots of hip-hop and cinematic strings. - Hi-Fi Choice
The album's widescreen blues is reminiscent of Massive Attack and Glideascope is able to navigate a coherent, engaging passage through the familiar sounds of the 21st century global village. One of the most evocative albums you're likely to hear this year. - Metro, UK
